Where is Portpatrick?
Portpatrick is in South-West Scotland.
Being under the influence of the Gulf Stream it
has a mild climate, as evidenced by the many temperate
and sub-tropical plants growing in the area. 20 miles across the the stretch of water known as the North Channel is Ireland. You can sit up in bed in Moir Cottage and look out on the Irish coast.
